Syndromes in Rheumatoid Arthritis

1. Sjogren's syndrome (common):
keratoconjunctivitis sicca and xerostomia (dry eyes and mouth)

2. Felty's syndrome (rare):
arthritis, splenomegaly, neutropenia

3. Caplan's syndrome (rare):
multiple pulmonary nodules and pneumoconiosis

Only DMARDs (not analgesics or NSAIDs) alter the course of rheumatoid arthritis !!!
